Teddy Bear's Picnic Christening Cake

Usually christening cakes are blue for a boy and pink for a girl, but not this one! This was for Darcie's christening, and she was having a Teddy Bear's Picnic theme. Her mum asked for the bears and picnic to be in chocolates and cream colours, so here is the finished cake!

All the bears are handmade from fondant. They are such fun to make!

We had a disaster during the delivery. Just as I was about to knock on the front door, a gust of wind blew the lid off the cake box, and it knocked the littlest bear off the top of the cake! Luckily he hadn't left a mark on the cake, but he suffered broken legs in the accident :-(

I hope Darcie had a fabulous christening! xx

Baby Shower Cake

One of my brides from August contacted me and asked if I could make a cake for her friend's baby shower. The mum to be doesn't know whether she's having a boy or a girl, so here's a unisex baby shower cake with one pink bootie and one blue bootie.

The cake was finished with a border of hearts in alternating blue and pink.

Best wishes to Nicola for the safe arrival of her lovely bundle of joy xxx

Owl and Hedgehog Themed Birthday and Christening Cake and Cupcakes :)

I was contacted by Joshua's mum who asked if we could make a cake to celebrate Joshua's first birthday and his christening, and she sent me a picture of the invitations and asked if we could incorporate details from these onto the cake.

Here's the invitation (I think it's called Happitree)...

 And here's the cake!

And some hedgehog cupcakes too :-)

Happy Birthday Joshua! :-) xx

Cloudbabies Cake

This was a cake we created for Sacario's birthday. He is the most gorgeous little boy ever! He loves the Cloudbabies, so we created a two tier cake with the characters on. His mum asked for the tiers to be wonky, as she is a fan of that style of cake, so here's the finished article!

I must confess, I've no idea who or what the Cloudbabies are so I had to spend a bit of time on Google doing some research!!

There were also some matching cupcakes featuring either rainbows or clouds to go with the cake :)

I hope Sacario had an amazing birthday party :-D xx

Three Tier Owl Birthday Cake

This was my own birthday cake which I finally got to make this weekend (only six months late hehe). When it was my actual birthday I was 41 weeks pregnant and had my daughter two days later, so wasn't really in the best frame of mind for baking!!

It's a gluten free lemon cake iced in fondant and then finished with a cute owl design.

Happy Birthday to me! xx

Ivory Three Tier Wedding Cake with Sunflowers

Here's a cake I did this weekend for the gorgeous Lauren and Dean's wedding at Casa Hotel, Brighouse. It's a stunning venue by the way. The reception was in a marquee which overlooked a terrace which overlooked a lake - gorgeous! We had fabulous weather too - ooh, it was like being in Monaco :)

The cake consisted of three tiers of chocolate cake (the middle having chocolate chips) iced in ivory sugarpaste with tiny hand piped dots to all three tiers. Sugar roses and sunflowers to match the bride's flowers were added, as was a humorous cake topper supplied by Lauren.

Massive congratulations to the happy couple! xx

Groom/Tuxedo Cookie Wedding Favours :)

These are some cookies I made for a recent wedding. It's a really poor photo as I thought I could get some more photos when I got to the venue, but the wedding coordinator set them all out for me!

They were home made shortbread cookies decorated with fondant with royal icing details. They were then presented in a cellophane bag tied with a ribbon to match the bride's scheme.

I'll hopefully get chance to do some more samples over the next few weeks, when the mad wedding rush has calmed down!

Gold and Ivory Roses Cupcake Tower

This is a wedding cupcake tower I delivered to Holdsworth House Hotel in Halifax over the weekend.

The bride had a gold and ivory scheme, so we baked vanilla and lemon cupcakes in gold cases. Half were topped with gold edible sparkles and half were put into ivory cupcake wrappers with a rose theme. The top cake was iced in ivory sugarpaste and had a large ribbon rose.

Massive congratulations to Kate and her hubby! xx

Navy and Ivory Blossom Wedding Cupcake Tower

Here's a cupcake tower we delivered the other week to Tankersley Manor Hotel at Barnsley. Took my whole family on the delivery (haha!) and while I was setting up the tower, my hubby sat in the car with our baby and saw the West Brom players! Apparently H was less than impressed with the likes of Ben Foster though.

The top of this cake tower was baked by the groom's mum and was a rich fruit cake, which I marzipanned and decorated to match their scheme. The cupcakes had a singe navy blue blossom on, and were encased in a beautiful butterfly wrapper.

Gorgeous!

Woohoo! I won!!

I recently entered a prize draw online to win a hamper filled with Belgian chocolate. I shouldn't have done really, as I'm trying to lose my baby weight and chocolate is definitely not going to help me with this, but I ended up winning and the fabulous hamper was delivered today!

Massive thanks to Lindsey at Heavenly Fountains
(http://www.facebook.com/www.heavenlyfountains.co.uk). Go take a look at their Facebook page, and click on 'Like'. Their chocolate fountains are amazing!

Now, where to hide it so I don't eat it all at once...

Hot Pink and Ivory Cupcake Tower

Here's a gorgeous hot pink and ivory cupcake tower we did for Marcia's wedding. 85 cupcakes and a top 6" round cake, all in delicious vanilla flavour. Delivered to the YMCA in Huddersfield, a fabulous venue!

Congratulations to Marcia and her new hubby! xx

Cadbury's purple wedding cupcake tower

Here's a wedding cupcake tower I created for Claire and her hubby last week. Delivery was to the Hey Green Hotel in Marsden, Huddersfield (and I have to say a massive thank you to Alex, the wedding coordinator there. He stopped me from crashing my car into a wall!!).

Cupcakes were a mix of chocolate and vanilla, with the top cake being a gluten free lemon sponge. The chocolate cupcakes were iced with purple frosting and had beautiful butterfly wrappers distinguishing them from the vanilla ones. Each cupcake was topped with an edible butterfly.

The top cake had a topper on which the bride supplied, but looked brilliant!

Congratulations to Claire and her new hubby xx

Two Tier Christening Cake

Here's a gorgeously cute cake I did for Dexter's christening this weekend. It's a two tier sponge cake, the top being vanilla and the bottom chocolate, iced in contrasting baby blue and white icing. The tiers then have baby footprints in opposite colours on, and the cake has Dexter's name on blocks.

The cake is topped off with a cute modelled train topper.

I hope Dexter had a lovely christening! xx

W065 - Black and Teal Two Tier Wedding Cake with Sparkly Brooches

Here's a gorgeously glam cake for your celebration - black fondant icing covers delicious vanilla madeira cake and is then trimmed with teal ribbon, a diamante trim and diamante brooch detail to the top tier. This could be made in a variety of colours, but looks amazing in black and teal!

This would be a gorgeous wedding cake, but was actually my friend's 30th birthday/hen do cake!!

W064 - Four Tier Ivory Blossom Wedding Cake

Here's a gorgeous wedding cake but a very poor photo! This is a four tier cake which is iced in ivory sugarpaste and trimmed with ivory satin ribbon. The detail to the front of the cake features blossoms and piped vines and stems and swirls up to the top tier.

A gorgeous glamorous cake!
