Jo's Cakes is now based in Honley, Holmfirth. We still deliver all over West Yorkshire and cover Huddersfield, Halifax, Holmfirth, Holme Valley and all around for wedding cakes, celebration cakes, cupcakes and more. 

Our move was stressful, to say the least, but not as bad as this... ;)

Finally, I've signed us up to Twitter. Friends and fellow small business owners rave about it, and I always thought I had enough social media with Facebook, Pinterest, Flickr, Cakes Decor, my blog and my website but I suppose you can never have enough! I'm still getting to grips with twitting, but I'll do my best to keep it up to date!

4 Tier Silver and White Wedding Cake

Here's a cake we created for Michele's wedding recently. She asked if we could create a four tier cake using silver ribbon and white faux roses, so this is what we came up with...

3 Tier Zebra and Pink 40th Birthday Cake

A super blingy cake! Featuring two tiers of zebra print icing and one of hot pink with a quilted effect. Lots of diamantes and sparkles :)

Cadburys Purple and Ivory Cupcake Tower

Here's a cupcake tower we created for our friend's wedding. Featuring ivory and Cadburys-style purple buttercream and fully edible glitter, these cupcakes are baked into Cadburys-style purple cases and the tower is topped with a gluten free vanilla cake.

Vintage Birds/Bunting Birthday Cake - My Baby's 1st Birthday Cake!

This is my baby girl's birthday cake. She turned 1 on 12 April - how quickly this last year has gone! I spent my own birthday ganaching her cake with white chocolate ganache flavoured with lemon, and the next day decorating her cake. Surely that's not right?! I spent my birthday last year hoping I wouldn't go into labour! Hehe. 

I went for a vintage/shabby chic look for Holly's cake, as I love it! Not sure about Holly, but she certainly loved her cake. We put her in the high chair and gave her the top tier to "play with" - cue one very sticky, cake-covered baby! I'll have to try and get some photos of her and her cake, but in the mean time here are some of the cake.

Cascading Hearts 3 Tier Wedding Cake (W008)

Here's a gorgeous cake we delivered at the weekend for Julia's wedding at Hey Green Hotel, Huddersfield. Two tiers of chocolate cake and a top tier of fruit iced in white fondant and then trimmed with diamante edging. Finished off with a cascade of hearts down the front of the cake and a heart topper spray provided by the bride herself.

Baby Shower Gift Basket Cake

Here's a cake we created for a baby shower. The mum to be doesn't know the sex of her baby, so we incorporated pink and blue items. 

The cake is a double height cake iced in fondant which is made to look like a basket. This meant we had to attach strips of fondant to create the basket weave look and it took ages! The effect is amazing though, so well worth it. The cake is finished off with hand modelled items including a cute teddy bear, bib, booties, rattle etc.

Vintage Double Height Cake with Roses and Pearls

Here's a cake which is a little bit different. It's effectively a four tier cake made to look like a three tier cake. The top tier has hand made sugar roses trimmed with pearls and the top and bottom tiers are finished off with a lace and pearl trim. The middle tier has a handmade fondant bow. 

Looks gorgeous on a pedestal cake stand - the perfect centrepiece for a vintage style wedding :)

Four Tier Pale Blue Wedding Cake with Butterflies and Lace

Here's a cake which is a little bit different. It's a gorgeous pale blue colour with ivory lace and ribbon trim and ivory butterflies trailing down the side.

Love Hearts 2 Tier Wedding Cake

Here's a fun idea for a wedding cake! Two tiers of square sponge cake iced in ivory fondant and trimmed with baby pink ribbon. The bottom tier has Love Heart sweets applied and there's a spray topper made from Love Hearts too.

Here's another of our purse-friendly wedding cakes. Serving 70 2" x 1" portions, this cake is £165! Still home baked to the same high standard as our other cakes and a range of flavours available.

This price includes a choice of either ivory or white fondant/sugarpaste icing, all cake boards and dowels, the brooch and a ribbon trim in a colour of your choice. I can personally deliver and set up the cake for you as well, and this service is free within 10 miles of me in HD4.

My whole philosophy when starting Jo's Cakes was to create stunning wedding cakes that don't cost the earth. I got married in 2009 and know how expensive this one day can be! My wedding cakes are all home baked by me using quality ingredients and then decorated by me, and for a 3 tier cake to serve approx 70 2" x 1" sponge cake portions start from £150.

Zebra Print 18th Birthday Cake

Here's a fab cake I really enjoyed making! It was a last minute request as my customer had been let down by another cake maker, and I was given free rein with the design. I decided on a funky zebra print pattern with a fab pink bow. 

My customer loved the cake, which was brilliant!
